Late to Arrive in the Right Condition
Dear friends & family, children & respected elders, teachers & mentors, our collaborators, supporters & well-wishers,
Our 2023-24 Annual Report & Journal maybe late, but only to take the time to arrive in the right condition because it felt paramount that we communicate deeply our efforts of responding with freedom to the education crisis, becoming a wholesome organization in a fragmented landscape, and our emergent principles of action that are guiding us so.

In-Depth Writing
While the Highlights (pages 1 – 20) directly bring wrapped in such aesthetics moments of significant events & developments to glimpses of daily-life at Karunar Kheti, I would like to draw the reader’s attention to the in-depth sections where the writing is deep, so much that they are becoming such references even for ourselves.
- In Efforts to Build a Wholesome Organization: Our Principles of Action & Gradual Training (pages 22-29), I have attempted to begin noting in words, and as such, in a philosophical basis, by trying to deeply listen to & re-discover from my consciousness, and even deeper, wisdom that settled in such places from years of living life and that flowed through me more in action than words as I, and other leaders, started laying the foundations of Karunar Kheti.
- In The Freedom Flow of Education: A Wholesome Effort to Respond to the Crisis in Education (pages 30-54), I, using this opportunity of this first formally & publicly published report & journal, have made an effort to give the readers an insight into the depths of our work in education as well as a comprehensive breath spanning the extent of time since our foundation.
- In Building an Empowering Community Institution (pages 55-63) & Reflection: Participatory Policy-Making (pages 64-65), Gaurav, in the context of the tea-plantations of Assam, offers insights of the great challenges & opportunities that give rise to such efforts to develop an unprecedented community-rooted organization; he also shares the emergent developments.
Financial Summary & Audited Accounts (pages 66-69) speaks for itself, but I wish to note how this year, with the support of our on-the-job learning-by-doing trainers, Fincubator Advisors (Jaipur), our accounts team, which has literally learnt compliant modern accounting as such, has been able to make coherent their years of learning to organically put together the story of our accounts. This development, especially in the context of organization development, as Gaurav has also written deeply about, cannot be overstated.
Last, but not in the least, in Grateful Acknowledgement (pages 70-72), with heartfelt gratitude we note the names of all our leaders, staff, partners, donors, and advisory committee members — could such truth~beauty be possible without such a diversely coherent teamwork? The related aesthetics of gratitude is boundless in its expression, and arguably the greatest expression is in the daily living & doing, yet, with words, this is a humble offering.
with such heartfelt gratitude,
Arjun
